Biblical figure, Joktan
Joktan, brother of Peleg, is one of the sons of Eber mentioned in the Bible (Genesis 10:25 KJV). The name Joktan means “little” or “insignificant”. It is believed that Joktan is referred to as Qahtan in Arab tradition- wherein he was the progenitor of the Arab nation.And unto Joktan were thirteen sons, namely, Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Obal, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havillah, and Jobab (Genesis 10:26-29 KJV).
